Training and Operations
Ed has been engaged in various aspects of the trucking industry since 1979 when he began driving as a car hauler. He continued as a driver until the closure of the Pittsburgh Car Hauler Terminal in 1987. He was then employed in maintenance from 1989 to 1989. In 1989 he became a driving instructor for Pittsburgh Diesel Institute where he advanced to the positon of Director of Education. In 1992 he, with a partner, founded Lawrence County Truck Training Center, re-named Transport Tech in 1997. The business was expanded to include facilities in Erie, Butler, and Brookville PA. His partner became ill and ultimately passed away. As a result Ed became the sole owner of the Butler location in 2006 currently DIBIA Keystone Diesel Institute. In his career as an instructor and owner Ed has trained approximately 8,500 drivers. Ed is, or has been, a member of a variety of transportation industry associations.
Ed has been married for 43 years, has two daughters and three grandchildren. He resides with his wife in Cranberry.
Ed and Keystone Diesel have been, and continue to be, active supporter of various community and charitable causes.
